My Girls Among the Melbourne Tulips
It’s always a challenge to photograph my own family; it seems I’m always thinking about my need to photograph my girls more. Well, I recently had a good opportunity to capture them at the annual Tulip Festival here in Melbourne, something we look forward to each year. Rows and rows of stunning flowers in all sorts of glorious colours!
Some of the best face painters I have seen were working their magic, with kids lined up for their chance to look like a beautiful princess, flower or Spiderman. So, here are my girls among the Melbourne tulips…

Creating memories with my girls
This is the second year we’ve visited the Tesselaar Tulip Festival (see below), and both years have been memorable. It’s an outing I’d heartily recommend. Just don’t forget to take your camera!
For more information, click here: Tesselaar Tulip Festival. Here’s an excerpt to whet your appetite: “It all began in 1939 with Dutch migrants; Cees and Johanna Tesselaar leaving Holland on their wedding day with a suitcase full of bulbs. Setting up shop in the picturesque Dandenong Ranges they began growing tulips, an exotic bloom for the time which caused a stir with people jumping the fence to get a closer look. Tesselaar officially opened the gates and celebrated their first Tulip Festival in 1954.”
